    Abstract

This study is intended to look into the child care teachers' perception of early childhood safety education. To achieve this, a survey was carried out to 176 child care teachers who are working in small and medium cities of Gyeonggi Province and North Jeolla Province. The findings were as follows. Child care teachers felt that daycare centers should hammer home the need of safety education because early childhood can easily be dangers of safety accidents, and offer an education that can prompt young children to learn safety knowledge and skills, which can protect themselves from accidents in the basic safety regulations and dangerous situation. Child care teachers' attention should be, however, widened to make sure that they have an equal experience in diverse subjects, including the Seven Largest Areas of School Safety Education announced by [8] because their perception of educational contents or teaching methods was weighted only towards the safety of everyday life. Consequently, the findings will provide child care teachers with basic data for the training program structure to give effective guidance to young children on early childhood safety and organize safe environments for them in various areas.
